Training Services
EnerTech Services
will develop the training class to meet your needs. Our personnel
have developed training classes for utilities as well as the private
sector. We have also worked directly with State agencies. Our resources
have given us the opportunity to fine tune each training class to
the specific audience being targeted.
Recent examples are as follows:
Solar Photovoltaic Systems and the 1999 National
Electrical Code Article 690 - EnerTech
Services has developed a training class to educate
licensed electricians about the code requirements associated with
the installation of solar systems. This eight-hour course counts toward
the fulfillment of the continuing education requirements for journeyman
electricians in the state of Idaho. Solar photovoltaics (PV) can be
used by anyone with a need for electric power. PV panels, which produce
direct current (DC) electricity when exposed to sunlight, can directly
power DC equipment. As an alternative, the electricity can be stored
in a battery for later use or converted from DC to alternating current
(AC) electricity to power AC equipment. Systems can also be set up
to deliver AC electricity to the utility power grid. The course covers
the following areas: Introduction to Photovoltaic Systems, PV Applications
and Equipment, PV and the NEC, General NEC Requirements, Article 690
Introduction, Conductor Selection and Sizing, Over-current Device
Selection and Ratings, Disconnects, Grounding, stand-alone Systems,
Utility Interactive Systems, and a Photo Tour of an Off-Grid Home.
Power Quality and Interference Control Course
- EnerTech Services
has developed a training class to educate licensed electricians about
power quality issues. This eight-hour course counts toward the fulfillment
of the continuing education requirements for journeyman electricians
in the state of Idaho. Power quality is a growing problem and public
concerns about it are increasing. Power quality problems or power
disturbances are caused by many factors. They can be caused by natural
events like lighting or by everyday happenings like business operations,
utility switching operations, or a neighbor's carpentry project. Power
quality problems are often hard to identify and the sources difficult
to determine. Specific problems require specific solutions, so accurate
identification of a problem is essential. The Power Quality and Interference
Control Course will help you understand the complexities of this growing
problem and how to solve power quality problems when you encounter
them.
High Voltage Training - EnerTech
Services has developed a training class to educate
licensed electricians about the hazards of working on high voltage
wires. This eight-hour course counts toward the fulfillment of the
continuing education requirements for journeyman electricians in the
state of Idaho. This class was developed to prepare the electricians
for the future. As each state adopts their own deregulation policy,
the lines between utility services and electrical contractors will
become blurred. This class has given the electrician the tools to
work in the high voltage arena safely.
